CAMS is a comprehensive family of applications, databases and services that are dedicated to crude assay management. This document provides an overview of the software.

Haverly H/COMET (Crude Evaluation Solutions for Traders and Marketers)

Haverly’s Crude Oil Management Evaluation Tool (H/COMET) is a complete Web based application for viewing and analyzing assay information. It can be used either thru the worldwide web ("live" H/COMET) or installed on a corporate server for Intranet use ("corporate" H/COMET). In both situations the clients own assay information can be stored and used.

Crude Assay Data

• System comes with a comprehensive crude assay library of hundreds of crude assays which are updated regularly.

Viewing and Comparing Assay Data

• Comprehensive easy to use search routines are provided for finding and comparing crude qualities, both on whole crude and distillation cut levels.
• Graphical display of crude qualities versus boiling point is available, and multiple crudes can be plotted at the same time for a wide range of qualities.

Cut quality Predictions

• Any crude assay can be simply re-cut (fractionated) to any user desired cut points. The output qualities predicted are displayed very quickly on the screen and can be downloaded in Excel. If multiple crudes are selected a side by side comparison report is created showing quality comparisons for each fraction.

Crude Blending

• Blending of crudes to any desired distillation fraction is easily achieved. Crudes and/or condensates can be blended together as well as products (e.g. Fuel Oil, Naphtha) can be blended to create a full range crude assay report. Results can be displayed in Metric or English units, and exported directly to Excel.
• Blend recipes can be optimized to meet target spec requirements for both bulk and distillation fraction levels.

Crude Economic Modeling (Refinery Netback tool)

• Generic Refineries can be modeled using inbuilt Linear Programming technology to quickly value a set of crudes and/or blends for particular refining markets and refinery types.
• Multiple marketing regions are supplied with product specifications defined. The product specifications can be modified by the user for modeling of any local market requirements
• Refinery unit configurations are easily configurable by the user by simply turning units on and supplying a bbl/day capacity
• A large library of pre-configured refineries from all regions comes with the system, including generic regional models. (e.g. Hydro skimming. Cracking, Complex-Coking)
• Results are displayed in multiple ways for quick comparisons between refineries for different crudes and/or blends. Results are downloadable directly to Excel
• Methods for populating the application quickly and automatically with pricing information are available.
