Inprocess Technology

Process modeling has become the standard tool for all process and chemical engineers who wish to do conceptual design, planning, what-if scenarios, safety design, debottlenecking studies, and even process optimization drilled down to the minutest unit-level detail.

The technology is rapidly advancing - how rigorous your tools can model the process setup and how accurate the outcomes can be on the floor, is the key differentiator between one simulator and another.

Process Simulation Services via Inprocess Technology and Consulting :

Inprocess is the premier process simulation knowledge provider for the process industry. Our goal is to enable our clients to maximise the benefits from their process simulation investment. The members of our core team have an average of over 10 years industry experience and a proven track record of assisting clients to exploit process simulation technology to the maximum. Whether you require an innovative solution to a current operational problem, a dynamic simulation study to confirm a safe design, or a tailored training programme to maximise your process simulation capability, Inprocess delivers.

Process Simulation and Optimisation are used in the process industry on a daily basis but are rarely exploited to their full potential. Process engineers equipped with these tools are often confronted with a range of challenges which we aim to address.

These challenges more often than not may prevent engineering departments from getting the optimum value from process simulation. Frequently they do not trust the results or do not apply simulation even though they know it would help them to find optimised solutions, which in turn would bring significant benefits to their company.

Inprocess offers a range of services to help its clients with these challenges :

  • Process simulation projects e.g. for dynamic simulation for safety studies (e.g. compressor start-up, shut-down, ESD or for flare systems); dynamic pipeline models, dynamic plant models to verify control strategies, etc.
  • Development of simulation based applications (e.g. model interfaces, case handling or workflow automation);
  • Operator Training Inprocess developed a new approach for supporting process engineering and unit operations training for Operators (see ITOP below)
  • Process simulation training after our experience in delivering training for more than 10 years, we have designed a new training material around HYSYS focused on Process (Oil& Gas, Refining, LNG,...) that goes beyond the simple usage of the simulation.
  • Development of (dynamic) process simulation extensions for: GUI, workflow, thermodynamics, process unit extensions, controllers, etc.

Inprocess are carrying out the above services for many Operating Companies (including BP, Eni, Cepsa, Conoco, Wintershall, BASF, LyondellBasell, etc.), major EPC companies (including Saipem, Foster Wheeler, Sofregaz/Tecnimont, Tecnicas Reunidas, etc.), and also compressor manufacturers (including GE Nuovo Pignone, MAN Diesel & Turbo & Atlas Copco).

Integrated Flare System Services

The flare systems of processing plants in the oil & gas, refining and petrochemical industry are constantly under examination; when new plants are build and connected to an existing flare header, when existing plants are extended, or when new regulations have to be applied to an existing system. Often dynamic analysis of the flare system or the flare gas sources can bring relief to bottlenecked flare systems. Nevertheless, in order to apply such dynamic analysis and get dependable results, one needs significant expertise. Inprocess offers such expertise based on our project experience. Contact us to discuss your flare system challenges.
